Blackjack Odds
Statistically speaking, blackjack has some of the best odds in any casino. In fact, blackjack is the only game where you can actually have BETTER odds than the dealer! Sounds great, doesn't it? But, before you go dropping your next paycheck at the blackjack table thinking, "well if I sit here long enough, I'll win in the long run," realize that the only way to obtain better odds than the dealer is to learn card counting. Playing straight up, the house always has the advantage, otherwise casinos would go out of business. As far as card counting goes, the Hog will not get into that here. Why? Card counting is pointless when playing online blackjack. The random number generators that deal the cards always assume a new deck of cards with each hand.
So what's the best way to make sure you obtain the best blackjack odds? The first place you should look is our section on basic strategy. On a side note, a friend of the Hog's once asked him "what if I play blackjack EXACTLY like the dealer does? Shouldn't I make out 50-50 in the long-run?" The answer is, of course, NO! The house advantage lies in the fact that when you both bust, the dealer still wins.
